Happy Holidays!!
Alternative Education options are plentiful in Orange County. There are as many ways to educate your children as there are ways to practice your belief system, satisfy your eating habits or stay in shape. The way you parent, the way your children learn, the number of kids you have, their interests, your spouse’s opinions, your chosen circle of friends, your family dynamic, extended family’s influence and your level of confidence all conspire together to create a unique, custom tailored program to enrich both your own life and that of your children.
Sometimes the most difficult part is finding your travel mates. This year I am being more and more drawn to creating a small exclusive dedicated learning circle, with those who are also part of our charter school so that we can share funds. The next step is how to find them, divvy up the preparation tasks, and set a schedule of supervision.
My ideas are specific and detailed- but definitely not set in stone. After talking with my almost 10 year old about it, she is eager to pursue this idea, remembering our experience with the Creative Learning Circle, which has become Oak Circle Community School, in Riverside County.
We will do Science & Social Studies on Tuesdays and Language & Creative Arts on Thursdays. At this point that is all I can tell you.
